The clouds that filtered in last night are still hanging, even lower this morning and stretching horizon to horizon. Not really any proper sunrise. Today's journey is back north on the coast road for 50 miles, back to Denise and Jim's bunkhouse, back to Pearl and Quake, the puppies. The predicted northeasterly winds never matured and any breeze at all was an easterly, which gave us a tailwind, sort of. Miles go by quickly, and we pass the fur seal colony at Ohau Point and reach The Store at Kekerengu for refreshments (and more pilfered red, ripe grapes), before cruising the last few miles in a misty rain, to Ure road and the Peddler's Rest. Ellen is reunited with the puppies, the sheep all run and Happy Hour starts at 4 pm...
Words of the day: flat white= cappuchino or, sometimes, latte; short black=espresso shot
Confusion of the day: one place had flat whites, cappuchinos, AND lattes!
